Creative Inking Blog Hop Sketch Challenge
08/20/2018
Welcome to the Creative Blog Hop.
This month, we are doing a Sketch Challenge using this sketch.
I find the sketches are a great challenge for me. I like how it gives a person the right to interpret the sketch. I decided to do 2 different cards with the same sketch and switch it up a bit in the second one.
Also for this month's blog, some of us are giving a sneak peek of the new Holiday Catalog that is going live on September 5. I felt that there was lots of time to do Christmas cards, so I focused on non Christmas stamps or at least showed 2 non Christmas cards.
This catalog is amazing........ and one set that I love is called Country Home. Anyone that has been around my house knows that I love the rustic country flair. So it was easy to pick this stamp set. Here is what I came up with using this sketch.
The Stampin Blends are an excellent way to color this stamp set. Also note the really cool new element that is available in this catalog and they are called Chicken Wire elements. I antiqued it a bit and then also used it as a stencil and sponged with ink to get an interesting effect on the right hand side of the card. I like how it is a bit rustic.
Then with a switch up, I turned the sketch on the side. The stamp set I used in this one is called Still Night.
I love owls, but this little guy can also be used for a scrapbook page that I will be doing after we go to Harry Potter's Castle in London in October. This stamp set is actually a Christmas set. I think this stamp set has lots of possibilities.
So now, why not hop on over to Michelle Irinyi's blog and see what she has done with this sketch.
And if you missed it, you can hop on back to Linda Bauwin's Blog and see her card.
Here are all the supplies that I used to make these 2 cards.
If you live in Canada, you can shop with me online at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/dianeevans/.
I hope you got inspired by this Blog Hop. Please feel free to leave comments on any of the sites.
Stampingly,
