Crayon Swap

This month's swap was all about Crayons.  I was dying to see what the other ladies had done, especially Carol Milgram.  You see, she does this awesome technique called Encaustic Painting.  It is done with crayons or wax and an iron. Every card is so different.  Here is the full card.

The clouds in the sky are so realistic.  Check out the grass and the flowers.  Carol said that the grass was done by lifting the hot iron.  She also used a stylus to give the detail to the flowers.  Here is a picture of the close up.

I'm sorry, but the pictures do not do this card justice.  They are truly a work of art.  Thanks Carol for allowing me to show this on my blog.

The beauty of Water Colour Crayons that Stampin Up has, is that it can make me look like an artist.  I can not draw a stick man and have it recognizable. I am not an artist by any definition of the word. I used the technique of colouring  onto the rubber of the stamp.  You mist the rubber with water first and then color directly on to the rubber.  I then mist the stamp again and stamp onto the paper.  If you used water color paper, you would get another affect.  Here is my card.

And here is a close up of the flower that was colored with the Water Colored crayons.
